Harold Boehm

Harold Stanford Boehm, 67, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 17, 2013, at his home. Born June 14, 1946, in Huntington Park, Calif., he was a retired business development manager for Briggs Electric in Irvine, Calif., attended Grace Community Church and was a member of West Hawaii Woodturners.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. Jan. 18 at Grace Community Church, 74-4889 Palani Road in Kailua-Kona, for a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: English Bible Training, University of the Nations, 75-5851 Kuakini Highway, Kailua-Kona, HI, 96740.

He is survived by wife, Terri Boehm of Kailua-Kona; sons, Ronald (Daphne) McKeehan of Ahualoa, Daniel Boehm of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Natalie (Jeff) Wight of El Segundo, Calif., Danielle (Tom) Johnson of Templeton, Calif., Lisianna Boehm of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughters, Stacy Lemoine of California, Jody (Ernie) Flores of Phoenix; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Teruko Naramoto

Teruko Naramoto, 91, of Honolulu died Jan. 13, 2014, at St. Francis Hospice Puiwa. Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Kalopa-Hamakua, she was a retired, self-employed florist with Bea’s Flower Shoppe.

Friends may call at noon Jan. 20 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu for a 1 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Harris) Hirata of Hilo, Nan (Danny) Stavnshoj of Seattle; sisters, Haruko (Masayoshi) Takahashi, Janet Chiyono Yuuki, Yukiko (Jose Jr.) Jandoc and Thelma (Lawrence) Kami, all of Honolulu, seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

Masao Gusukuma

Masao Gusukuma, 84, of Pepeekeo died Jan. 10, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 1, 1929, in Ninole, he was a retired mechanic from Hilo Coast Processing Co., an ILWU Union Insurance agent, Army veteran and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission, Hui Okinawa and ILWU Local 142.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Jan. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Yoshiko Gusukuma of Pepeekeo; son, Curtis Gusukuma of Pepeekeo; brother, Masanobu (Yoshiko) Gusukuma of Kailua, Oahu; sisters, Toshiko Uchima of Laupahoehoe, Sally Hiroko Nagata and Yasu Sugiyama, both of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray Gillespie

Ray Wesley Gillespie, 71, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 27, 2013, in Seattle. Born May 9, 1942, in Leavenworth, Kan., he was a retired contracting manager with Hawaii Health Systems Corp., a retired Vietnam War Army veteran and charter member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at St. Michael’s tent location on Honokohau Street for a 10:30 a.m. service. A military honors funeral will follow at noon at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held after the service at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA, 91607.

He is survived by wife, Paula Gillespie of Kailua-Kona; sons, Kelly Gillespie (Jennifer) of Leavenworth, Wash., Sean Gillespie of Pittsburgh, Kan.; mother, Dorothy Gillespie of Tonganoxie, Kan.; brothers, Joe Gillespie (Sherry) of Edwardsville, Kan., Gary Gillespie (Karin) of Firestone, Colo.; sister, Jean Dunnigan of Mill Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henry Regohos Jr.

Henry Regohos Jr., 62, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 3, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 19, 1951, in Honolulu, he was an Army veteran, auto mechanic and member of Soka Gakkai International-USA.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Jan. 24 at the chapel at A Hui Hou Crematory and Funeral Home in Palm Terrace for a service.

He is survived by wife, Doreen Regohos of Kailua-Kona; son, Travis (Sauiluma) Regohos of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Yvonne Hail of Kailua-Kona; parents, Edmund Paul and Miguela Chung-Hoon of Kealakehe; brothers, Michael (Gay) Regohos of Kailua-Kona, Steven (Georgia) Chung-Hoon of Kealakekua, Edmund Chung-Hoon of Honolulu, Richard (Lei) Demitrial in Chico, Calif.; sisters, Catherine (Clayton) Villanueva of Kealakehe, Joanne Morimoto and Cynthia (Hillary) Kanuha, both of Pearl City, Oahu, Michelle Darcy (Ronald) Espanto of Waipahu, Oahu, Danderine Clark of Kona Paradise; four grandchildren.

Peter Keka

Peter Keka, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 10, 2013, at his residence. Born Oct. 9, 1940, in Waikii, he was a rock wall builder who also assisted in the restoration of Kaloko Pond, Ahuena Heiau and Higashihara Park and member of the Kona Horseshoe Pitching Club and Queen Liliuokalani and Kai O Pua Canoe clubs.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park at the Koloko Pond for a 10:30 a.m. service. Parking is available and shuttle service will be provided at the park visitor’s center. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by stepsons, John Medeiros of Kailua-Kona, Duane Medeiros of Wailupe, Oahu; stepdaughter, Johnnalyn (Richard) Kaiawe of Kealakekua; brothers, Joseph Keka and Arthur Keka, both of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Kalei Kahumoku of Kailua-Kona, Harriette Shimaoka of Kealakekua, Eva Nino of Kohala; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret Froebel

Margaret “Elaine” Froebel, 72, of Volcano died Jan. 8, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 7, 1941, in Galveston, Texas, she was retired from Walmart in Texas.

No services are planned.

She is survived by son, Michael Froebel of Volcano; daughter, Kimberly (Matt) Johnson of Hitchcock, Texas; hanai son, John Deermer of Volcano; sisters, Patti Carlson and Carol (Dan) McLeod, both of League City, Texas; three grandchildren.

Tsuyako Ebesugawa

Tsuyako “Nappie” Ebesugawa, 98, of Hilo died Dec. 19, 2013, at her residence. Born Aug. 5, 1915, in Hilo, she was the proprietress of Ebesu’s Limited and member of the Zonta Club of Hilo, Hilo Woman’s Club, Higashi Hongwanji Fujin Kai, Waiakea Chuo Kumiai, Japanese Community Association and East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts.

She is survived by sisters, Ann Kaya and Satsuki Ebesugawa, both of Hilo, Ruby (Herbert) Maruyama of Denver; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Edward O’Brien

Edward “Tim” George O’Brien, 84, of Waikoloa died Jan. 8, 2014, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Oct. 13, 1929, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the hotel general manager for Rock Resorts in the Virgin Islands and a Navy veteran.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by wife, Mari O’Brien of Waikoloa; son, Robert (Cathy) O’Brien of Michigan; daughters, Kathy (Keith) Kent of Maine, Karyn Mashima of New York; sister, Rita Alexander of Florida; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Katherine Painter

Katherine “Kanani” “Luana” Kapahu Painter, 69, of Mountain View died Jan. 3, 2014, at her residence. Born Aug. 25, 1944, in Hilo, she was a security guard and member of New Hope Volcano.

She is survived by son, Leon Norton of Georgia; daughter, Shirley Ann (Aaron) Painter-Cox of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers, John Kaimimoku and Lawrence Sayurin, both of Honolulu, Michael Herring, John Lopis and Nathan (Geraldine) Herring, all of Kailua, Oahu; sisters, Nadine (Harry) Maglasang of Wahiawa, Oahu, Cyndy Kaimimoku of Honolulu, Anna Mae (Luis) Balalilo of San Diego, Sybil Kalima of Waianae, Oahu, Amy (Henry) Entendencia of Mililani, Oahu, Marsha Carr; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teruyo Segawa

Teruyo “Terry” Segawa, 84, of Hilo died Jan. 4, 2014, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Oct. 17, 1929, in Kohala, she was retired from F.W. Woolworth’s store in Hilo and member of Higashi Hongwanji Mission and Waiakea Houselots Kumiai.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by husband, Isami Segawa of Hilo; daughters, Ivane (Alvin) Aoki of Papaikou, Rae (Nolan) Mori of Hilo, Susan Segawa of Las Vegas; brothers, Satoru (Eiko) Yamamoto and Mitsugi Yamamoto, both of Honolulu; sisters, Mitsuko (Frank) Iwashita of San Francisco, Akemi (Masato) Yoshimitsu of Cypress, Calif., Sadami Ono of Washington state, Laura (Ben) Fujimoto of Honolulu; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
